Karen Blixen Camp in cooperation with the Karen Blixen Camp Trust is committed to uplifting the living standards of the host Maasai community through the establishment of various CSR projects.
We are committed to raise the bar and make available the benefits of new technologies by offering IT and language education for our staff and local Maasai community.
Karen Blixen Camp provided capital and initiated a bead making project with the objective of training women on design, quality product delivery and consequently finding market for their products. The Camp has bought the products from the women and has also been able to secure some overseas market for them.
In 2018 the 32 women from the Maasai Rianda Women Group started a new initiative – The Sustainable Charcoal Production Project. In 2019 the Karen Blixen Camp Trust supported the project with a donation.
You are able to support our conservation and community work in many ways. Should you wish to support Karen Blixen Hospitality School and donate funds for the education of the Maasai children and youth we kindly ask you to contact us directly. Guests staying at the camp are also encouraged to visit the traditional Maasai village with proceeds forwarded to the community.
